Norm's Story

The partnership with CARITAS has been absolutely pivotal to the Market @ 25th’s successes. Our goal was, and is, to provide jobs and sustainability to individuals in the East End of Richmond, particularly for those with significant personal obstacles and barriers to employment. The WORKS System, a professional development skills curriculum facilitated, coordinated, and provided by Marilyn Milio, and her incredible staff and volunteers, gave our new hires the confidence and focus they needed to become great employees which helped stabilize them, and their family’s, lives. Many have been able to purchases cars and homes, and others have moved on to other businesses to further their careers. We have also had a higher than industry average rate of retention for the grocery business. We would not be where we are without CARITAS and The WORKS System.
